Andrew Granville Pierce papers, 1853-1884.

Primarily correspondence for various business activities in which Andrew G. Pierce was engaged, especially while in the employment of Edward L. Baker, an oil and candle manufacturer, of New Bedford, Mass., and in 1855, when Pierce succeeded Baker as treasurer of Wamsutta Mills; together with a letter (1853) from his brother, Benjamin Franklin Pierce, logkeeper of the whaler bark Alice Frazier, relating to his experience in the Arctic; accounts (1853-1857) between Edward L. Baker and Andrew G. Pierce; and a bill of lading (1854) for goods shipped to California.
